Westfield Stamp Club - Meeting Schedule

Come to our meetings

General membership meetings are scheduled for the fourth Thursday of each month except for November (when the meeting is moved to the third Thursday because of Thanksgiving), and July and August (when the meetings are suspended for summer recess).

Members may arrive at the meetings beginning at 7:30 PM for socialization and to review the auction lots and other material which may be on display. The meeting itself begins at 8:00 PM and generally lasts until 9:30 PM. Our meetings are held in the main meeting room at the front of theWestfield Municipal Building at 425 East Broad Street, Westfield, New Jersey. Get Directions.

Oct. 22, 2009 The Imperforate One Cent Blues of 1851-57
Larry will eliminate the confusion surrounding these beautiful classic one cent blues.

A PowerPoint presentation will trace the story of one of the largest counterfeit stamp cases ever worked in the U.S. and which also had a New Jersey connection.

An evening of Food, Drink and Holiday Cheer! There will be a Donation Auction and 50/50 to help cover costs.
Jan. 28, 2010 The Bordentown Stage
Bob will relate the story of the Bordentown Stage which ran from Philadelphia to New York during the Colonial Period to about 1790 and its famous handstamp.

The “geographically challenged” country of The Gambia has a fascinating postal history. We’ll see the first “Cameo” stamps, interesting and rare village and town cancellations on cover, and examples from the world’s only completely river-based traveling post office.

June 24, 2010 The Postal History of Sainte Marie de Madagascar
This small island off the east coast of Madagascar issued a series of 13 stamps in the French Colonial Allegorical Group Type in 1894. Ed will show a number of covers and discuss the various rates and usages.
